After President Donald Trump's election, he signed executive orders withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement. In response, China positioned itself as a global leader in addressing climate change and supporting the WHO. Experts believe China could step into the leadership void left by the U.S., particularly in the health and environmental sectors, despite its own challenges, like being the world’s top carbon emitter.
