The Pentagon confirmed Sunday that a U.S. general was wounded in last week's terrorist attack on a security conference in Afghanistan.
Army Brigadier General Jeffrey Smiley is recovering from at least one gunshot wound. Officials did not reveal how seriously he was hurt.
Smiley is in charge of NATO's military advisory mission in southern Afghanistan.
