US Scientists Rush to Stop Devastating Bat Killer
The U.S. government estimates that bat populations in the northeastern U.S. have dropped by as much as 80 percent since White Nose Syndrome, or WNS, was brought here 10 years ago. If not stopped, the fungus — which kills bats by the millions — will cause an ecological disaster.
