Pakistani officials say a suspected U.S. drone strike has killed at least four militants in northwestern Pakistan.
Officials say the strike Monday targeted a Taliban compound in North Waziristan, along the Afghan border.
Their account could not be independently corroborated as journalists are not allowed to work in tribal areas.
Drone strikes are not popular in Pakistan where many consider them a violation of the country's sovereignty. But the U.S. insists these attacks are effective to eliminate militants in areas not accessible to the Pakistani military.
