US Defense Budget Adds Aircraft Carrier, Fighter Jets, Increases Military Force Size

President Donald Trump has put forward a $668 billion defense budget for the upcoming fiscal year -- about $52 billion over congressional spending caps. The budget grows the size of the force by tens of thousands, a very important move for the U.S. Air Force, which is currently short hundreds of pilots. VOA Pentagon correspondent Carla Babb has more.
