Defeated Ukrainian presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko has filed a lawsuit with Ukraine's Supreme Administrative Court seeking to overturn the results of last week's election.
Ms. Tymoshenko, Ukraine's current prime minister, arrived Tuesday at the court in Kyiv with crates of evidence she says shows the February 7 election won by Viktor Yanukovych was rigged.
She claims vote rigging robbed her of one million votes in the runoff election. Final results show her losing by nearly 888,000 votes.
Her vote-rigging claim comes despite a statement last week from the poll-monitoring unit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe which said the vote was free and fair.
Ukraine's parliament has set February 25 for the swearing in of President-elect Yanukovych.
A majority of 238 lawmakers in the 450-seat parliament endorsed the date Tuesday. But factions loyal to Ms. Tymoshenko boycotted the vote.
If Mr. Yanukovych survives the Tymoshenko legal challenge, he is widely expected to seek a new prime minister once sworn in. He has called on Ms. Tymoshenko to resign that post, but she has so far refused to do so.
