Ukraine reports downing 24 Russian drones

Ukraine’s military said Monday it shot down all 24 aerial drones that Russia used in overnight attacks targeting multiple areas in the country.

The Ukrainian air force said the intercepts took place over the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy and Vinnytsia regions.

Serhiy Lysak, the governor of Dnipropetrovsk, said on Telegram the Russian attacks injured two people and damaged both homes and farm buildings.

Officials in Kharkiv reported damage to civilian infrastructure.

In Russia’s Belgorod region, across the border from Kharkiv, officials said Monday that a Ukrainian attack injured one person and damaged four apartment buildings in the town of Shebekino.

Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov also said on Telegram that Ukrainian drones attacked the village of Ilek-Penkovka, setting two houses on fire and damaging another building.
