Police in Uganda have surrounded the home of opposition leader Kizza Besigye, who was arrested several times earlier this year for leading protests against rising prices.
Officials with Uganda's main opposition party say police surrounded Besigye's Kampala home early Monday and put up roadblocks in the area.
There has been no explanation from Ugandan police.
Police detained Besigye at least four times as he led "Walk to Work" protests against rising food and fuel prices in April.
In one incident April 28, Ugandan police smashed the windows of Besigye's car, sprayed it with tear gas and removed the opposition leader by force.
Government prosecutors charged Besigye with rioting, incitement to violence and disobeying police orders. A magistrate dismissed those charges last Tuesday, saying there was insufficient evidence to charge Besigye.
Besigye is a three-time runner-up in Ugandan presidential elections, losing all three times to President Yoweri Museveni.
