Police in Iraq say gunmen have kidnapped at least 26 members of a Qatari hunting party in the southern part of the country, near the Saudi border.
Officials say an armed group driving in dozens of pickup trucks abducted the hunters at their camp Wednesday. Two Iraqi officers providing security for the hunters were also reportedly seized.
Wealthy hunters from Gulf states often travel to that area of southern Iraq at this time of year.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Islamic State fighters in that region are known to move around in large numbers in convoys.
