U.S. President-elect Donald Trump lashed out again Sunday at the cast and producers of the hit Broadway show Hamilton for challenging Vice President-elect Mike Pence about the new government's political plans, but Pence said he was not offended.

Trump said on his Twitter account that he had heard that the show, based on the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of America, "is highly overrated" and that those involved with it "should immediately apologize" to Pence "for their terrible behavior."

It was the third time Trump complained about a statement that actor Brandon Victor Dixon made after Pence watched the show Friday night with his nephew and daughter, telling the vice president-elect that the new government that takes over January 20 should "work on behalf of all of us."

“We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” Dixon said on stage as Pence exited the theater.

Pence told Fox News on Sunday that he was not upset by the actor's remarks, and that he had heard some cheers and some boos at his presence in the New York theater. Pence said he told his daughter, "That's what freedom sounds like."

Pence said Hamilton was an "incredible production'' involving a very talented cast and encouraged people to try to see the show, which is sold out for months to come.

On whether he thinks an apology was necessary, Pence said, "I'll leave it to others whether that was the appropriate venue to say it."

Hours after the actor made his remarks to Pence, Trump tweeted, "Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!”

He followed with another comment, "The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”

In another tweet Sunday, Trump complained about a television comedy sketch on Saturday Night Live that lampooned his first days as president-elect.

"It is a totally one-sided, biased show - nothing funny at all. Equal time for us?" Trump said.
