Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will face trial November 3.

A U.S. District Court set the trial date Wednesday. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for the Russian-born Tsarnaev. He has pled not guilty to 30 federal charges.

Prosecutors allege the 20-year-old and his older brother, Tamerlan, planted homemade pressure cooker bombs near the Boston marathon's finish line last April. Tamerlan Tsarnaev died following a shootout with police.

The bombs killed three people and injured more than 250 others.

Charges against Tsarnaev also include killing a university police officer three days after the bombing, as he and his brother tried to flee the area after they were identified as suspects.

Defense attorneys said they wanted the trial delayed until September 2015 so they can review the extensive evidence gathered by law enforcement agencies.

In addition to thousands of pages of files, computer records and security camera photographs, attorneys need to examine 2,000 pieces of physical evidence -- including shrapnel from the blast site and damaged vehicles.
