Bieber slips a slot to fifth place with his former champion single “What Do You Mean?” The pop star has been aggressively promoting his Purpose album…maybe a little too aggressively. Officials in San Francisco are demanding that his team clean up advertising graffiti that was spray-painted on sidewalks. Purpose came out on November 13… and they want the offending material removed quickly.

Meanwhile, over in the United Kingdom, things are going a little better for the Beiber.

He replaces himself at number four, as “Love Yourself” rises a slot. Bieber just lost the race to the Christmas number one position in the U.K., as the National Health Service Choir took the pole position with “A Bridge Over You.” Justin had urged his fans to support the Choir, and later posted a congratulatory tweet.

Drake remains stuck in third place with “Hotline Bling.” Last week the singer enjoyed an online reunion with an old friend, posting an Instagram photo of himself and actress Andrea Lewis. More than a decade ago, their characters were romantically involved in the Canadian teen TV drama "Degrassi: The Next Generation."

Justin Bieber remains in the runner-up slot with “Sorry.” After spending Christmas in Canada with his family, he jetted off to the Caribbean. Accompanying him is his father Jeremy, his siblings, and his friend, model Hailey Baldwin. The Inquisitr web site reports that they’re believed to be in the Dominican Republic.

And, Adele had a very Merry Christmas…and a very profitable one.

Adele rules the Hot 100 pop singles list for an eighth week with “Hello.” Her number one album 25 has now sold more than 7.1 million copies in the United States alone. It’s the first album to sell more than one million copies in three different weeks since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

Can Adele keep up her momentum in the new year? Join us in seven days and we’ll find out together!
