These are the five most popular songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles Chart, for the week ending March 19, 2016.
If you liked last week’s lineup, you’ll like this week’s because “almost” nothing changes. We do have a little switcheroo in fifth place, where Justin Bieber dips a slot.
Number 5: Justin Bieber "Sorry"
Justin descends to number five with his former champ “Sorry.” On March 13 in Portland, Oregon, he premiered a new song called “Insecurities.” Justin performed on an acoustic guitar while sitting on a couch…much like his earliest YouTube videos.
Number 4: Flo Rida "My House"
Taking over fourth place is Flo Rida with “My House.” It’s been a few years since he reached these chart heights…Only four other Flo Rida singles have reached fourth place or higher…the last time being in 2012, when “Whistle” went all the way to number one.
Number 3: Twenty One Pilots "Stressed Out"
Twenty One Pilots levels off this week, as “Stressed Out” holds onto third place. No less an authority than Rolling Stone Magazine has proclaimed this Ohio duo the biggest new band of the past year…and Ricky Reed says that’s no accident. He produced their Blurryface album and says it contains more hit singles. Ricky knows hit music: he’s also executive producing Meghan Trainor’s upcoming sophomore album.
Number 2: Justin Bieber "Love Yourself"
Holding in second place is Justin Bieber, who just received lavish praise from Kanye West. On March 13, Kanye tweeted that Justin’s earlier hit “What Do U Mean” was his favorite song of 2015.
The pair logged some studio time last year, but the results didn’t make it into Kanye’s Life Of Pablo album.
Number 1: Rihanna Featuring Drake "Work"
Reigning atop the Hot 100 for a third week are Rihanna and Drake with “Work.” While Drake finishes his next album, Rihanna’s hitting the road. She kicked off her ANTI World Tour on March 12 in Jacksonville, Florida. She had cancelled the previous seven cities due to production delays. Right now, Rihanna is scheduled to stay on tour through August 16.
That’s all we have this week…join us in seven days for a whole new lineup.
