Afghan officials say two suicide bombers wearing police uniforms blew themselves up at a provincial police headquarters in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 10 police officers and wounding at least 13 others.
Authorities say Saturday's attack occurred in Paktika province.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the assault. Reuters news service reports a Taliban spokesman says the attackers had undergone police training at the center.
In eastern Afghanistan, Afghan and coalition forces killed at least 15 insurgents in Nangarhar province.
Officials say the security force had come under fire as it approached a compound in search of a Taliban leader.
Separately, coalition forces say an improvised explosive blast killed one service member Saturday in eastern Afghanistan. Officials did not reveal the soldier's nationality or identity.
