Yemeni security officials say a suicide bomber has attacked a convoy carrying Defense Minister Mohammad Nasser Ahmed in the southern port city of Aden.
The officials said the blast Tuesday wounded at least 10 people traveling in the motorcade, but the defense minister was not hurt in the attack.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing.
Yemeni troops have been battling al-Qaida-linked militants in the south for months, trying to retake parts of Abyan province, which sits to the east of Aden.
