A suicide bomber has attacked near a police station in northwest Pakistan, wounding at least six people.
Authorities say several police officers were among those wounded in Tuesday's blast in Bannu. The town is located just outside the North Waziristan tribal region known as a stronghold of al-Qaida and Taliban-linked militants.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
It comes a day after a bombing killed two police officers in Peshawar.
NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen acknowledged Monday the "high price" Pakistan has paid for its efforts to defeat terrorism, and said the alliance stands with Pakistan as it combats the "scourge" of terrorism.
