The Sudanese National Assembly has voted today to back President Omar Al Bashir’s decision to impose an indefinite state of emergency in Blue Nile State as fighting between the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) northern sector and Sudan Armed Forces continue in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile.
The SPLA -northern sector has formalized ties with Justice and Equality Movement in Darfur in their attempts to remove the ruling National Congress Party from power. VOA’s reporter Alsanosi Ahmed attended the Sudanese National Assembly special sesseion in Khartoum today.
