South Korea has suspended imports of all U.S. poultry and poultry products because of an outbreak of bird flu at a chicken farm in the western state of Oregon.
South Korea's Agriculture Ministry said in a statement Sunday that the move came after the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported the outbreak of the H5N8 strain to the World Organization for Animal Health on Thursday
The strain is known to have a maximum incubation period of 21 days.
South Korea is struggling to deal with its own outbreak of bird flu in birds.
