About 2 million immigrants who live in the United States come from Eastern Europe, and as with other immigrant groups, adjusting to their new lives can be difficult, such as how to deal with local authorities like the police. In Portland, Oregon, a Slavic Advisory Council has been set up to help police officers and Eastern European immigrants understand each other better.
