Divers to Head for Main Section of AirAsia Jet Wreckage

update

Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency says divers Thursday will try to reach the main section of the AirAsia flight wreckage where most of the bodies are believed to be located.

Agency chief Henry Bambang Soelistyo says the fuselage was found in the Java Sea three kilometers from the tail section and 800 meters from where the "black box" recorders were found earlier. The fuselage was located by a Singaporean navy ship.

The Airbus jet crashed December 28 with 162 people on board. Fifty bodies have been recovered so far.

Underwater photos from a remotely operated vehicle show the cracked fuselage and part of the plane's wing.

AirAsia Flight QZ8501 vanished from radar less than halfway into its flight to Singapore from the Indonesian city of Surabaya.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
