WASHINGTON —
Police investigating reports of gunfire at a military medical center near Washington, D.C., now say there is no evidence of a shooting after hours of searching the facility.
The false alarm scrambled law enforcement to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, Monday morning.
The incident follows a massive lockdown last week at another military facility in the U.S. capital following reports of gunshots at the Navy Yard, an administrative center for the U.S. Navy.
No arrests were made, no weapons discovered, and no injuries reported after an hours-long investigation and evacuation at the facility Thursday.
