They rallied from a 16-point halftime deficit, scoring twice in the final two minutes and nine seconds to get to overtime where quarterback Russell Wilson connected with Jermaine Kearse for the winning 35-yard touchdown.
New England had an easier path Sunday, dominating the Indianapolis Colts 45-7. Quarterback Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes, setting a new record for passing yards in postseason play, while running back LeGarrette Blount added three touchdowns to New England's total.
The Super Bowl on February 1 in Glendale, Arizona, will be watched by millions of people around the world as the Seahawks try to win their second consecutive championship.
Brady will be playing in his sixth career Super Bowl, tying the record for most by a single player. He led the Patriots to championships in 2002, 2004 and 2005, and was twice named the game's Most Valuable Player.
