A new wave of Saudi-lead airstrikes targeted Houthi positions in Yemen's capital on Sunday following a deadly rebel attack on Riyadh's coalition troops.
Jets bombed Houthi military positions and Yemeni army bases in Sana'a, after the Houthis on Friday killed more than 60 ground troops from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, who are supporting forces loyal to exiled president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in Marib, an eastern oil province.
UAE leaders had vowed retaliation for the deaths.
"Our revenge shall not take long," warned Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, according to Emirati media. "We will press ahead until we purge Yemen of the scum."
Yemeni media reports dozens of civilians were killed in Saudi-lead strikes on Saturday.
Multiple parties are fighting for control of Yemen since the Houthis advanced on the capital last September.
The clashes have killed thousands of fighters and civilians after Saudi Arabia began its air offensive in March, driving the country into a humanitarian crisis.
