Calls Grow for Accountability on Syria School Attack
The grinding war in Syria this week registered a new low, when the United Nations reported that an airstrike that killed dozens of students and teachers was the deadliest attack on a school in nearly six years of fighting. U.N. Special Envoy for Education, Gordon Brown, called for the U.N. Security Council to refer the attack on the school in Idlib, Syria to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for investigation. If the attack is deemed deliberate, it could be a war crime.
