Prominent Pakistani politician and former cricketer Imran Khan was injured in a fall from a lift device during a political rally in the eastern city of Lahore Tuesday.
Khan fell head first from an estimated height of more than two meters, along with several supporters. It is not clear what type of surface they fell on.
Local television footage showed aides carrying Khan away from the rally after the fall. His face was bloody and swollen, and he appeared unconscious. However, officials with Khan's Pakistan Movement for Justice party say their leader's injuries were not life-threatening.
The charismatic politician has taken on a punishing schedule of rallies and election events across the country in an attempt to secure support for his campaign.
