U.S. President Barack Obama says America can reduce its dependence on foreign oil by as much as a third by 2025.

During his weekly address Saturday, Obama said shifting to cleaner fuels will help stabilize gas prices.

The president's new Blueprint for a Secure Energy Future also calls for increasing oil exploration in the United States.

Obama says America must have the ability to develop more fuel-efficient vehicles. The president says curbing the demand for foreign oil may also translate into a better environment.

The Republican weekly address dealt with jobs. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner challenged the government to do more to encourage small businesses to create jobs. Speaker Boehner says overspending by the federal government is discouraging investment in small business.
