Three Palestinians who carried out attacks in the occupied West Bank were shot dead Monday by the Israeli military.
The Israeli army said in a statement two assailants opened fire on pedestrians at a bus stop at the entrance of Kiryat Arba, a Jewish settlement, near the divided city of Hebron. Israeli forces shot the attackers. One soldier was wounded.
Another attack happened "moments later," the army said, when a car rammed a military vehicle at the same bus stop. Soldiers opened fire on the assailant, killing him. Two soldiers were injured.
A wave of Palestinian street violence since October has killed at least 184 Palestinians, 28 Israelis and two U.S. citizens.
Analysts say the increasing violence stems from young Palestinians' frustration with the growth of Jewish settlements on land Palestinians want for a future state, and Islamist calls for the destruction of Israel.
