Police in eastern Pakistan say gunmen opened fire on a car carrying a well-known journalist, killing his driver.
Authorities said Raza Rumi escaped unharmed from the attack Friday in Lahore.
Rumi, an anchorman on Express News, said he had just left the studio after finishing his show when the car was attacked in the Raja market neighborhood. Rumi's guard was injured in the incident.
No one has claimed responsibility, but such threats and attacks against journalists are common in Pakistan, blamed on Islamic militants and armed ethnic factions. Rumi has been critical of Pakistani militant organizations.
The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists has condemned the attack, saying "critical journalists continue to face enormous risks in Pakistan."
CPJ said Friday's assault was the fourth attack on media workers in Pakistan this year.
