The women's super-combined Alpine ski race at the Vancouver Winter Olympics has been postponed, after heavy snow conditions caused training runs on Friday and Saturday to be canceled.
The women had been scheduled to race on Sunday, but the event must be postponed if the skiers do not complete at least one full training run prior to the race. A new date for the event has not yet been announced.
Officials say heavy overnight rain made the snow "too heavy," and that they are giving full priority to getting a nearby hill ready for the men's downhill race, considered a major event in Alpine skiing.
The men's downhill event is scheduled for Saturday.
