Obama Celebrates Summer Olympics, Paralympics

U.S. President Barack Obama took a break from the politics of his presidential campaign in his weekly address Saturday. He talked, instead, about the Summer Olympics.

He thanked the U.S. athletes in both the Olympics and the Paralympics for "presenting the best of America to the rest of the world."

Obama mentioned the names of several athletes and said he was "filled with pride" watching Gabby Douglas win the gymnastics all-around gold with "incredible poise and grace."

The president, who celebrates his 51st birthday Saturday, said the hard work and sacrifice of the men and women who compete in the games is inspirational.
