U.S. President Barack Obama says he wants Congress to put aside political games to focus instead on finding ways every American can participate in the resurgence the country is currently experiencing.
The president said that message will be the theme of his State of the Union address Tuesday.
In his weekly address Saturday, Obama said 2014 was the "fastest year for job growth since the 1990s." In addition, unemployment fell faster in 2014 than any year since 1984.
He said "America's resurgence is real" and now it is "our job" to make sure every American feels they are "a part of our country's comeback."
President Obama said three everyday Americans who have been part of the country's recovery will join him at the Capitol Tuesday during his speech, including a veteran who lost both legs in Afghanistan, but who recently moved into a new house with his wife and baby girl.
