Justice Department Sues North Carolina over Transgender 'Bathroom' Law

A legal battle intensified between the U.S. government and the state of North Carolina over a controversial law mandating transgender people use the bathroom corresponding to their gender at birth, not the one to which they identity. VOA’s Michael Bowman reports, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit challenging the law hours after North Carolina refused to scrap it and filed a preemptive suit against the federal government.
