Islamic State released a new video Wednesday evening, this one threatening New York City.

It shows what appears to be an explosive device, which is then zipped inside someone’s leather jacket. Next, the video shows shots of New York’s famous Times Square.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) was quick to point out that some of the footage used in the video was old.

“There is no current threat to the city at this time,” tweeted NYPD Director of Communication J. Peter Donald. But he added that the propaganda video is a reminder New York City remains a top terrorist target. He said the city is on alert.

“We will remain at a heightened state of vigilance and will continue to work with the FBI, the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the entire intelligence community to keep the city of New York safe.”

The threat to New York follows one made against Washington, D.C., on Monday in an IS video which also threatened all countries “that take part in the crusader campaign.”

President Barack Obama’s top advisor on counterterrorism told MSNBC on Wednesday that there is no “credible threat” against Washington, D.C.
