Officials in Mozambique say a plane carrying 34 people has gone missing while traveling from Mozambique to Angola.
The Mozambique Airlines flight was due to land in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on Friday afternoon, but never arrived.
The airline says that initial information indicates the plane might have landed in northern Namibia near the border with Botswana and Angola.
Airline officials have not been able to get in touch with the crew. They did not say why they believe the plane might have been diverted.
A police official told the French News Agency that officers are searching for the plane in the region where air traffic controllers lost the plane's signal.
Some information for this report was provided by AFP.
