As Britons headed to the polls to decide whether or not they want to remain a part of the European Union, Twitter became enamored with pictures of dogs accompanying their owners to the polls under the hashtag #dogsatpollingstations.
About 46.5 million Britons are eligible to cast their vote before the polls close at 10 p.m. local time. The latest polls show voters are split nearly 50-50 with about 10 to 12 percent saying they're undecided.
An unscientific analysis of the dogs appears to show they are for "remain."
Not to be outdone, cat lovers started their own hashtag, #catsforbrexit, with a few felines registering their desire to remain under the hashtag #catsagainstbrexit.
