A sense of pride and optimism has gripped Malaysia following the stunning defeat of a widely despised but powerful government implicated in one of the worlds' greatest corruption scandals. In an exclusive interview with VOA, new Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was under no illusions about the amount of work to be done to restore the country's reputation and finances, but also distanced himself from any blame following his previous administration.
