Cardin: US 'Has Tools' to Take Action Against Human Rights Violations in Iran

US Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), the highest ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee told VOA Friday that the United States does have tools to respond to the Iranian regime's human rights violations. "I mean these are obviously internal issues and it’s hard for us to get directly involved," Cardin told VOA contributor Greta Van Susteren. "But to the extent that the Iranian officials violate established international human rights standards we should take action."
