LIVE BLOG: Republicans Gather for Trump

update

The theme for Monday, the first night of the Republican National Convention, was Make America Safe Again. Among the speakers were two Navy Seals and the mother of a man who died in the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. There were also a few Hollywood stars who took the stage. However, the speaker most people seemed to want to hear Monday night was Melania Trump, the wife of Republican candidate Donald Trump. Get the latest here.

Ivanka Trump calls out Republicans who are not attending the convention during a televised chat with ABC's Good Morning America:

'That's their choice if they don't want to be part of the narrative, if they don't want to be part of the future,' Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka told ABC News' Lara Spencer during an interview set to air on Tuesday.

Update and factcheck from the Secret Service about that Trump motorcade accident:

Tonight's keynote speaker is Melania Trump, wife to the presumptive nominee, former model, interior designer and businesswoman. Here's a quick bio:

Born on April 26, 1970 in Slovenia, Melania Knauss began her modeling career at the age of sixteen. She went on to earn her degree in design and architecture at University in Slovenia. In 1996, Melania settled in New York in 1996.

She married Donald Trump in 2005 after a long courtship.

"We literally have never had an argument, forget about the word 'fight' ... We just are very compatible. We get along," Trump has said of his wife.

The couple welcomed a son, Baron William Trump, a year later.
