Kobani Honors American Slain Fighting IS

American volunteer Keith Broomfield, killed in Syria earlier this month in a battle against the Islamic State, was honored by the people of Kobani Thursday, as his body was sent to relatives across the border in Turkey. Broomfield, known in Kurdish as Gelhat Rumet, is believed to be the first American killed fighting alongside the Syrian Kurdish YPG forces.
