Israel's military has released aerial photographs it says show Hezbollah stockpiles of weapons in towns and villages in south Lebanon.
An Israeli military official said Wednesday the Lebanese militant group has placed arms caches and rocket storehouses near schools, hospitals and other public buildings in an attempt to use civilians as human shields.
The photographed area was near the Israeli border, where Israel and Hezbollah fought a month-long war in 2006. More than 1,200 Lebanese people and about 160 Israelis were killed in the fighting, which was ended by a United Nations resolution.
Lebanon has accused Israel of violating the resolution by flying over Lebanese territory, while Israel has accused Hezbollah of breaching the deal by re-arming itself with weapons smuggled from Syria.
