Iraq has confirmed that Sunni rebels have seized a former chemical weapons facility.
Iraq's U.N. ambassador Mohamed Ali Alahkim sent a letter to Secretary General Ban KI-moon Tuesday, saying "armed terrorists" have taken over the site. He said Baghdad cannot meet its obligations to destroy its chemical weapons.
Remnants of Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons program are in two bunkers that the U.S. says ISIL fighters seized last month, but U.S. officials say the chemicals are inaccessible and too old to be of any use.
