Head of Anti-Taliban Group Killed in Pakistan

Pakistani police say the head of an anti-Taliban committee has been killed by a suicide blast in the country's northwest.

Police officials say the suicide bomber targeted a vehicle carrying committee chief Fateh Khan Saturday in restive Buner district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

The attack also killed three guards and wounded several other people.

Buner district is believed to be a hiding place for the Pakistani Taliban. It borders the the Swat Valley, where Taliban gunmen last month seriously wounded a 14-year-old girl who spoke out against the militant group and in favor of education for women.
