Haiti's Senate has confirmed Garry Conille as the country's next prime minister.
Conille was President Michel Martelly's third nominee for the position. The lower house of parliament approved him Friday.
Conille served as an aide to former U.S. President Bill Clinton during his time as a special U.N. envoy to Haiti.
Martelly's presidential campaign promised to rebuild Haiti, but progress has been slowed with the prime minister position left vacant for more than five months.
Haiti was struck by a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake in January 2010. Nearly one quarter of a million Haitians were killed as a result of the natural disaster.
