Growing Coffee in Laos Highlands Provides Alternative to Opium Poppies
What started out as a project to provide an alternative for Laos' highland farmers is now riding the wave of increased international visitors to the UNESCO town of Luang Prabang. Traditionally known for its Buddhist temples, tourism in the heritage town is booming, paving the way for one company to make its mark with locally-grown coffee beans.
