German Chancellor Angela Merkel (C) and fellow deputies leave after casting their vote on the approval to extend Greece's bailout, during a session of the Bundestag in Berlin, Feb. 27, 2015.

Germany’s Parliament voted overwhelmingly Friday in favor of a four-month extension of Greece’s financial bailout program.
The Bundestag voted 542-32 to back the extension, with 13 members abstaining.

Germany's Bundestag was among the national parliaments that needed to approve the bailout extension

Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said Germans should do everything possible "to keep Europe together," but also promised Greece would not be allowed to “blackmail” its eurozone partners.

Greece was granted the extension in exchange for a commitment to budget reforms.

Left-wing Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras won Greece's January elections with a promise to renegotiate the austerity measures imposed in return for the $270 billion bailout.
