Explosions in Dagestan Kill 2

A pair of explosions killed two people and wounded at least 15 others Wednesday in the southern Russian republic of Dagestan.

The blasts took place minutes apart at two adjacent stores in the busy center of Dagestan's capital, Makhachkala. The stores reportedly sold liquor.

Stores selling alchoholic beverages have frequently been targeted by Islamic militants in Dagestan and other republics in Russia's restive, Muslim majority North Caucasus region.

Three policemen were reportedly among those injured in Wednesday's blasts.
