Hurricane Laura pounded the U.S. Gulf Coast with torrential rain and ferocious wind of up to 241 kph as the Category 4 storm roared ashore Thursday in Louisiana near the Texas border. At least six deaths are reported. VOA correspondent Mariama Diallo reports.
