In a powerful symbolic move, France's Eiffel Tower, Louvre museum and other attractions in Paris reopened to tourists Monday after a two-day shutdown.
As darkness fell, the Eiffel Tower was floodlit in the blue, white and red of the French tricolor along with a projection of Paris' motto "tossed, but not sunk," suggesting an unsinkable city tossed in the waves.
The tower will be lit up in blue, white and red on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Across the French capital, thousands clasped hands outside some of the bullet-riddled nightspots targeted Friday, as children returned to school and city authorities vowed to resume normal life as quickly as possible.
