Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been returned to jail from a military hospital, now that his health has improved.

Egypt's prosecutor general on Monday ordered Mubarak to be returned to jail nearly a month after he was moved to a military hospital in Cairo.

The 84-year-old former leader was sentenced to life in prison for failing to stop the killings of protesters during last year's uprising that ended his three-decade rule.

Mubarak was moved to the hospital after a series of health crises that had the state media reporting that he was clinically dead.
