Separate attacks in Egypt have killed two police officers and wounded nearly a dozen other people.
The policemen were on patrol in the North Sinai capital, Al-Arish, late Thursday when an explosion tore into their car.
About 400 kilometers to the west, Egyptian state media report that twin bombs set off during a Sufi Muslim religious festival in the Nile delta city of Tanta sent 11 people to the hospital. Police dismantled a third device nearby.
The Middle East News Agency said five suspects were arrested Thursday in connection with the Tanta blasts.
No group has claimed responsibility for Thursday's bombings, which come two days after an explosion in central Cairo wounded 12 people. The Islamist militant group Ajnad Misr, known also as Soldiers of Egypt, said it carried out that attack.
Militants have perpetrated a series of bombings around the country since the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
